In the latest Midlands League round of fixtures the lads made the trip to Scunthorpe to face a North Lincolnshire side that would have been looking to put right that 108 loss we inflicted on them in October. A much changed Durham line up still put in a cracking performance running out 143-95 winners.
Across the green we won on two, drew one and lost on a couple. Top rink was the rink of Michael Lynch (Darlington), Tony Henderson (Darlington), John Mansfield (Hartlepool) and Tony Macey (Darlington) who won 33-7.
The 17-5 points return means that the lads sit top and have a 17 point lead over Yorkshire although they do have a better shot difference. So with one game to go – a title decider against Yorkshire we need at least 5½ points to finish top and reach the Play Off for a second consecutive year.
The game against Yorkshire is due to be played on 27 February at a venue yet to be confirmed.
